A special investigation into tap and go surcharges | 7NEWS with Tim Wildash

On April 4th, Tim Wildash (Executive Chairman) discusses with 7NEWS how eftpos tap-and-go fees are making everything more expensive. Wildash says that there is a way to bring down these debit and credit surcharges but it's just not being picked up. Banks and businesses are pointing fingers and experts are calling it a disgrace.

Wildash states that "tap-and-go is obviously very convenient, but it is also very expensive.....consumers would be surprised by how many fees they actually are paying through a payments system".

In the news report, Wildash gives tips to consumers on how they can reduce their fees by inserting their card and pressing 'savings' instead of 'tapping and going'. Doing this also helps to alleviate the extra costs that businesses take on when they provide a payments terminal.
