Smart Pups Charity Event 2023

On Friday 26^th of May, a number of Next Payments staff attended the annual Smart Pups Assistance Dogs Charity event that was held at The Paddo Tavern in Brisbane. It was an exceptional day and the team at Next Payments were delighted to attend for the 6th year running. 

Smart Pups is a not-for-profit organisation based in Queensland that provides assistance dogs to children with special needs. With task-specific training, Smart Pups work to improve the quality of life and independence of these children, acting as a unique yet profound form of therapy for all that are involved. 

Now in its 11th consecutive year, the event works to raise much needed funds and awareness for the Smart Pups organisation. The day featured Smart Pups patron Dawn Fraser AC MBE, four-time world boxing champion Danny Green and rock legend Jon Stevens, but of course would not have been complete without the presence of some of the adorable Smart Pups. In an amazing effort, there was $204,720 raised on the day, with an additional $200,000 being kindly donated by Queensland Premier Anastacia Palaszczuk. 

Since its inception in 2011, Smart Pups has placed 295 assistance dogs with special needs children all around Australia.
